The SSWZ "Studenthostel" Meierwiesenstrasse is located in the fast-growing Zurich West district. The property was designed by Novaron Architekten and built by Halter AG in 2009. Within walking distance of Altstetten station, 169 rooms for students from all over the world are spread over four floors. The ground floor is largely used for communal purposes and includes the office of the person responsible for the building, which also serves as a reception area. The residents' everyday life takes place mainly in the large industrial kitchen, where the students cook together, and in the spacious common room.
